Films by Literary Gods

Some links to a few films from some of history’s most unique wordsmiths. Both Borges and William S. Burroughs both contributed an amazing influence on both literature and culture with ideas that were often ahead of their time. Their ideas shattered our passive view of reality in favor of a more surreal and, honestly, more interesting world. They in turn influenced many other thinkers who have taken the seed of those ideas and developed their own worlds. I highly suggest reading some of their works.

X-Men: What Comics?

Seriously, its a good movie. However, burn all the memories you ever had of the comics, they don’t exist in this world. The effects surpassed the first two, the acting, well…about the same, meaning not all that great, other then the two shakespearean actors (stewart and mckellen).  It seems like they really tried to make this the “final” movie, yet, questions are left unanswered. Specifically, you must stay after the credits to see what I am refering too. (I’m sure you can find out online) I honestly hope for more. I firmly believe that there will be a Wolverine movie out soon. He was the driving force behind many of the viewer’s paying their hard earned money. Hugh also gets top billing in the credits. Mark my words…you know I’m always right….

20/20 Piercings

Pierced Eyeglasses [The Publisher’s Ring]:

The idea of hanging eyeglasses from a piercing or a combination of piercings or even transdermal implants is something that a lot of us have toyed with — as I was writing this, my old boss Tom Brazda reminded me that almost ten years ago we made a set of them built around a 10ga bridge piercing (with both left and right-handed threading to make it adjustable). That said, I don’t think we ever took pictures, so maybe I’m making it up because I want to steal James Sooy’s thunder. He’s who sent me this gorgeous example of a piercing-mounted set of eyeglasses:

Go to the site to see the image….jesus…I need new glasses, but this? not for me.

Really Lost

Watched the season 2 finale of Lost, which I’ve been following religiously. Its one of the few series that starts to pick up and never seems to relent. Honestly, I’m just happy it has not been canceled yet. I’m so used to good stories being shot down by reality-tv-watching zombie-fucks, that I’m shocked tv-land has gathered its collective IQs together to keep Lost on the Nelson map. As you can tell, I’m still a little bitter about Firefly and John Doe. (and others I can’t remember)

I’m not going to give anything away here, because I strongly feel that everyone should watch this show from the beginning, and since ABC now offers it for free, you have no excuse bastards! Least to say, its a great show, where questions are answered by more questions, leaving you feeling like you were just raped by a ghostly Socrates. Go watch it now! I demand it.

I’m Amazed It Took Them THIS Long Filed under: * researchmaterial — warrenellis @ 4:32 pm

When operatives of the Priory of Semen discover that Leonardo Da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa using his own sperm, a group of young hotties get embroiled in the mystery that finds them seeking the master’s bodily fluids at all costs. Such is the yarn woven in Hustler Video’s The Da Vinci Load…

…….Bhawahahahahaha!!!! Ahhh I love mankind sometimes. Ever once in a while they make me crack a smile.

Sociable Links

I’m not sure what half of these social communities sites are, I’ve only used a few, however, if you use any of them feel free to click on the icons at the bottom of each post. Additionally, I’m testing out a Technorati plugin that lets me create “tags” for each post.

Wrath of Sparky

I am huddling in the corner, holding my precious…my ibook that is, to my chest. Hiding from that bastard Jason. His very presence sends sparks of pain into my precious. He actually reached for my laptop, and sent a spark that shut the computer off and seems to have reset my bios? It reverted the time to Dec. 31st 1969.

Then, he visciously tried to attack it again, only I was ready this time and intercepted him. But just his mere touch sent a jolt through my hand and into the earbud on the opposite side of my body, causing the earbud to screech in static pain.

Beware the Jason! Fear him and his anti-mac electrical aura!

C-Train

Well, I’m sorry to say it, but it looks like I’m riding that C-Train again. Yes, that’s right, I’m back on the wagon…the caffeine wagon. (you older people thought something else) I was so proud of myself…I had fought the mental addiction and was supplementing the physical with doses of green tea. (very good for you) But the tea just kept the headaches at bay, it did not help the fatique syptoms. So I figured, I needed vitamins, and maybe a little caffeine, can’t hurt right. So I picked up the juiced Rockstar in the morning. Wow…what a change. I had energy and vitamins. I was healthy right? But then, when the Rockstar was finished, when my defenses were down, when my leg shaking started to slow down, then it happened. The call of the soda machine. Yes, the Dew beckoned once more. And so here I am, one Rockstar and two Dews later, writing this sad sad confession.

Reading List

I’ve replaced the links to my reading list with something called the Google Reader. This is an RSS collector that I can organize, and then neatly place a summary of on my page, (see the upper right box) I’m still experimenting, so well see how this works. I might put the links back up, not sure. You can read the articles in it by clicking on them, or if you want to see the full reading list, just click on the “Read in Google Reader” which takes you to my collection. Don’t forget the Google Notebook will also include links/info that is not listed here. (categorized of course)

Blogger Emotional Weather Report

We Feel Fine May 17th, 2006
We Feel Fine by Jonathan Harris and Sepandar Kanvar is a visualization of how the internet community feels. The program scours across blogs for phrases containing “I feel” and parses them into a field for analysis from many different angles. Brilliant!

Interesting experiment, combining all the bloggers in an emotional soup.
