Superman Returns

I have to say that I was impressed. I wasn’t a huge fan of the older franchise. I was always more of a Dark Knight fan, but Singer did a good job. I’ve learned long ago to never go into a Hollywood adaption thinking about the comics, just ignore them, it makes it easier. Same holds true for Supes. What I enjoyed, was how well they kept the character of Superman. They could have brought him up-to-date, made him cynical and darker, mirror our societal mindset, but they didn’t. He was the quintessential boyscout. Plus they kept the super-feats that was common with the Man. So, ignore the comics and the past and enjoy the film. One of the few icons over 50 years old that kids still get excited about.
