Just a note about today, the day that Kurt Vonnegut has died. Understand, he was 84, and he would be the first I feel to say that he lived a full and fulfilling life. It nevertheless is a sad day for those who treasure intelligence. He was one of the great trickster writers, a worthy enlistee to the ranks of Twain and others. His dark humor and critical mind helped teach many young people and it will be missed greatly. If you haven’t read any Vonnegut, I highly suggest it. There are some great titles out there, Cat’s Cradle, Slaughterhouse Five, and many more. Do your self a favor and read one sometime soon.

Yet more proof that mankind is doomed to self-destruction from their own stupidity. Hundreds of insane people waited in line for the Playstation 3 recently. That is a little crazy but ok, I can see it. However, for the guy who quit his job to wait in line, for the guy who canceled his wedding, for the many many people who fought each other and shot each other for this expensive TOY! All of you must immediately kill yourselves and spare the gene pool, please. There was one shining moment of hope in this dark hour, the wonderful people in this video below;

From Crooks and Liars: Rush Limbaugh today accused Michael J. Fox, actor and Parkinson’s Disease victim, of deliberately going off of his meds to appear on camera with exaggerated symptoms of his disease for dramatic effect. Fox appeared in a recent Clair McHaskill (D-MO) Senate campaign ad, touting the need for stem cell research. Limbaugh even goes so far as to accuse Fox of faking his symptoms all together.

God Hates Blogs, Journals, Spaces and Some Photo SharingBloggers are going to hell one entry at a time, according to Kevin D. Denee of the Restored Church of God’s Ambassador Youth magazine:
Should teenagers and others in the Church express themselves to the world through blogs? Because of the obvious dangers; the clear biblical principles that apply; the fact that it gives one a voice; that it is almost always idle words; that teens often do not think before they do; that it is acting out of boredom; and it is filled with appearances of evil — blogging is simply not to be done in the Church. It should be clear that it is unnecessary and in fact dangerous on many levels.
Let me emphasize that no one—including adults — should have a blog or personal website (unless it is for legitimate business purposes).
Photo sharing is acceptable to the Lord in some circumstances:
Some questions naturally arise: “Can I have a photo gallery?” For example, maybe you visited an exotic country and want to share your photos with close friends. This can be done, but certain guidelines apply. Of course, there should never be any inappropriate pictures (again, be careful of the appearance of evil); it should be private and password protected, and only shown to family and closest friends.
Well damn. I have two blogs, photo sharing, etc. To think, I was only one sin away from completing my ’seven deadly sin’ path to Hell. All of that work, and all I had to do was write a blog?! Wow, it is going to be crowded down there…
You would not believe how relieved I am that reality tv is finally dying down. This means that America can stop rotting their minds and simply enjoy well told stories. Two of which I have started watching recently.
Heroes
This is an interesting show, not the fantasy about people with super powers that you would think, its more involved, complicated, and more than a little dark. Such as the stripper mom with the genius boy. She seems to be really tough, a killer, literally. The catch? She only seems to be this amazing fighter, when she is channelling her dark split personality. A painter who can paint the future, but only when high on heroine. An indestructable cheerleader who’s stepfather is the main bad guy. A fllier with depression issues and the first super? A psychotic killer who seems to enjoy brains. They get all of this baggage while trying to stop the destruction of New York in 5 weeks.
Jericho
Speaking of the apocalypse, it has occurred in America in this new show. At least 5 or more nukes seem to have hit the US, but not much is known in the little town of Jericho, where people are trying to figure things out, and learning more and more.
So, thank you networks for finally showing some good stories (of course ther is lost and battlestar) and I am sure that the American audience will force them into cancelation soon in order to watch another reality tv dancing show. Bastards.

NPR : Senate Panel: No Saddam-Qaida Ties Before War:
There is no evidence that Saddam Hussein had any relationship with the late terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi or with al-Qaida, the Senate Intelligence Committee says in a new report.
Some say that this means we entered a war unneccessarily, others believe that we eventually would have gone to war with Iraq anyways. What is not in dispute, is that Bush insisted that our reasons for invading Iraq after 9/11 was Hussein’s threat to the US, via its connections with with al-Qaida and ownership of WMDs. This report mimics others from before the war by intelligence offices. When confronted with questions about this decision;
White House spokesman Tony Snow dismissed the report, saying, “We’ll let people quibble over three years ago.”
Quibble?! To quibble means “to evade the truth or importance of an issue by raising trivial distinctions and objections.” This means that the Press Secretary of the White House considers the reasoning behind going to war or not going to war, between the deaths of young Americans and children of Iraq, as a “trivial distinction”
Whether you agree or disagree with the war, the rhetoric of this administration shows either a dangerous ignorance or callous disregard for the people who are truly fighting this war.

Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter passed away today from a stingray barb to the heart. Like many, I always enjoyed Steve’s antics and passion for his art. He brought a hidden, out-of-mind world into the living rooms of millions and taught us that knowledge makes this world a little less scary. His death was as rare as he was, with only 17 reported fatalities from stingrays.
